Ghatophryne rubigina - Red Stream Toad



This species is rare. It inhabits inland wetlands and tropical evergreen forests of southern Western Ghats of India (mainly Silent Valley and Wayanad in Kerala), at the heights ranging 1,000m - 1,200m asl.

Conservation Status:

This species is listed as Vulnerable in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).

According to the IUCN Red List assessment, the population of this species is stable. Currently, the population size is unknown. The threat to this species is little known.
