This species is rare. It inhabits inland wetlands and tropical evergreen forests of southern Western Ghats of India (mainly Silent Valley and Wayanad in Kerala), at the heights ranging 1,000m - 1,200m asl.

Conservation Status:

This species is listed as Vulnerable in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (
